The aggregation of attapulgite clay is the structure of earthy block with the color of hoar, caesious, yellowish, light green, lustrous grease, light proportion and 2-3 grades Mohs Hardness. When it is damp, it is shown as stickiness and plasticity; and while it is dry, it will be shrunken and not generate chaps with strong water absorbing capability of over 150% and about PH=8.5. As there are a lot of pores inside the attapulgite with an area of above 350m2/g, bigger than the superficial area, most of the cations, water particles and some organic molecules in certain size can all be directly absorbed into the pores, whose electrochemistry capability is stable and which is cannot be flocculated by the electrolyte.
    Attapulgite clay minerals have the property of nano materials, and are the natural nano structural mineral materials with the structure of nano passage. As they have very large superficial area and certain ion permutability, they are widely used as sorbent, activator storing agent or antimicrobial carrier.

In the sorbent market of Europe, the annual output for pet padding materials, floor board and animal feed is respectively 95 tons, 200,000 tons and 300,000 tons, mainly distributed in Germany, France, England, North Ireland, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain and Austria. The annual output of the sorbent market in USA is 2,600,000 tons, and the annual output for pet padding materials, oil and grease is respectively 1,800,000 tons and 800,000 tons.
